Happy International Women’s Day from K’DOR
International Women’s Day is a celebration that feels especially close to our hearts at K’DOR. A time to honour the strength, depth and individuality of women, and the stories that shape us.
This year, we invited a remarkable group of women to share their thoughts and personal experiences in their own words. Through heartfelt conversations, they offer an intimate glimpse into the moments, influences and decisions that have defined their paths.
Each story is a reminder that strength takes many forms, sometimes bold and visible, sometimes quiet and deeply personal.
We are proud to celebrate these women and the brilliance they carry, today and every day.
Jessica Origliasso - Singer/Songwriter, The Veronicas
When seeing a creative project come to life. Whether it's songwriting, or the creative for a shoot or show, seeing the vision come to life with our other passionate collaborators, is a truly empowering feeling
The definition of success has evolved countless times over the past 21 years of The Veronica's . Success for me today is reaching my personal best, and treating myself and the people around me with love, respect and honesty.
Our mum Colleen has been the pivotal female mentor in my life.
She loved life, she made even the little mundane things feel like magic every single day. It was important to her that we learned to give back to community from a young age. She is my North Star in the qualities I strive to embody everyday.

Empowerment for me is defined daily by the inner knowing that I am living and moving in absolute authenticity.
Success is getting to live a life centred around my highest values. Cultivating a healthy mind, body and soul by prioritising time cooking with family, connecting with nature, having my morning coffee and watching all the beautiful native birds, creative freedom to be my strange self, never settling on explaining or defining who I am, and perpetually living like a flower in bloom- always reaching for the light.
I am forever shaped by all the women in my life. The ones I've loved and the ones I've lost.
My twin sister Jessie has been my North Star. We have chosen to come through together in this lifetime for a shared purpose, and I believe that is to outgrow self limiting beliefs and evolve into a unified force of love.
Brooke Cassen - Mother, Wife, Founder, Former Artist Australian Ballet
True empowerment, for me, hasn’t come from standing on stage or achieving something visible. It came much more quietly — in choosing to step away from certain ambitions and redefine what mattered most to me. Becoming a mother shifted everything. I realised empowerment isn’t always about pushing forward; sometimes it’s about choosing presence. Building a warm, loving home and supporting the people I love in becoming who they’re meant to be — that has been my most powerful decision.

The women who have shaped me most are those who embody resilience with grace. My mother-in-law, a French war survivor, is 94 and currently rehabilitating from a stroke. Her spirit, her glamour, her refusal to surrender her vitality — that is true grit. She reminds me that strength can be elegant.
My daughter Violet is my daily inspiration. She moves through the world with curiosity and courage, and she reminds me constantly of what truly matters.
And my stepdaughter Emily continues to amaze me with her intelligence, passion and depth. Watching these young women grow — seeing their strength unfold — is one of life’s great privileges.
But I also believe something deeply: the man who makes a woman feel beautiful, supported and fully herself is part of that story. My husband Robert’s unwavering belief in me has shaped my confidence in profound ways. True empowerment is rarely solitary — it’s built within love.

It takes some pretty deep reflection to acknowledge those moments as I have found for me to strive to be empowered have come with grit, determination and a laser focus that most of the time I would have called it relief rather than empowerment. I have some great career moments that have given me the autonomy I have worked incredibly hard towards but I would have to say the real first time I felt empowered was when I chose a life for myself as a single mum, working in the entertainment industry, paying my own bills and each decision I made was my choice for mine and my kids future.
I think this links to being empowered as
success for me is the power of choice. From working seven days a week that felt like 24/7 I am now in the position where the freedom to choose is the ultimate success. The choice when to say yes, or no, to not work every weekend, to have holidays with my kids, have time to myself and to have the time to experience new places, pick u a hobby for the sake of it. But mostly it
is knowing my adult kids are my friends in life, to have friends you can pick up the phone anytime for a laugh or a cry and a family that I know will always be there.
I always credit my Aunty for giving me small quotes and insights to getting older. “Just wait till you are 30, it all gets better from there”, and it did. “No matter who you are what you do, no-one gets away in this life scott-free”, no matter if you are having a really hard time and you feel you are on your own, you never know what someone else is going through. And a mentor from afar was Raquel Welch, it wasnt her wisdom or quotes but she introduced me to yoga through her book when I was 19 and it set me on a path of taking time for me, my mind and my body. I still refer to her book to this day.
