February Birthstone: All About Amethyst

Amethyst is Nature's Soothing Stone

Were you, or someone you love born in February?

Then count your blessings, because your birthstone is the mystical Amethyst!

The legend of this iridescent purple-hued quartz kicks off with Greek mythology, where it was said that young nymph Amethyst (literally, "remedy against drunkness"), is transformed by Diana into a cold crystal to protect her against the advances of drunken Bacchus.

Once sober, and infuriated by Diana's act, the God of Wine emptied his cup over the crystal, turning it violet in colour.

With lore like this behind it, it's no wonder Amethyst is also the birthstone of dreamy Pisceans!

Amethyst's vibrant lilac, lavender, dark plum and purple tone can elevate any modern outfit while also lending it a spiritual aura.

Here are some more details about this stunning gemstone to help you appreciate the magic in your Amethyst pieces.... and until the end of February, we would love to gift you 15% towards any item in our exquisite Amethyst range.
